What is palliative care?

Hospice care is a specialised branch of medicine dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for patients facing terminal or life-limiting illnesses. It offers support, including medical, emotional, and spiritual care, ensuring comfort and dignity. Equally important, hospice care extends comforting emotional and spiritual support to the loved ones and caregivers, helping them navigate this challenging journey together.

About Palliative Care

Commitment Towards Compassionate Care

Comprehensive palliative care for those with terminal illnesses is a significant aspect of ensuring peace for patients as well as their families. This branch of medicine focuses on relieving pain, managing symptoms, and offering emotional and spiritual support throughout their journey.

Both hospice and palliative care aim to improve the quality of life. The difference between them is when they are given. While palliative care is provided at any stage of the illness, even alongside curative treatments, hospice care is normally given to patients at end-of-life care.

Why is Palliative Care Important?

Going through terminal illnesses is never easy for any party involved. Palliative care addresses this daunting journey by fulfilling the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients by helping them navigate their illnesses with comfort.

Not only does palliative care focus on making the patients’ journeys easier, but it also eases them for their loved ones as well. Comprehensive palliative care relieves pain for the patients and supports their families in times of hardship through medicinal care, emotional counselling, and spiritual guidance.

Who is Involved in Palliative Care?

Our multidisciplinary team consists of healthcare professionals with expertise in various fields, including doctors, nurses, and volunteers. Together, we collaborate to develop personalised home care plans that address the unique needs and preferences of each patient and their family.
